Irvine roamed deeper into the city, the night moon covered by dark ominous clouds and only faint traces of light from the street lights that lit the now light orange road. Irvine buries his hands in his pockets and continues down the street not a trace of life in sight. His stomach growls lightly as he walks by a local Quickie-Mart, his pockets contained no money and he couldn't risk drawing attention to himself until he knew his parents weren't looking for him. What was he supposed to do now? Again that question entered his brain, life had sudden;y become so pointless without a means to blend into society but at this point he wasn't sure he wanted to anymore. The participants are spoiled children, clinging to the euphoria of light and the frailty of materials, it was so linear so hollow, there had to be something more to this life then Irvine could perceive, why else would he have been visited by so many spirits? Perhaps they were the key...Maybe they would lead him somewhere. As he walked he heard a car rear around the corner, seeing the flashing red and blue lights Irvine knew exactly what it was, the police, they must be after Irvine because hes out past curfew, but he couldn't be certain so Irvine continued walking as though nothing was happening, the car rolling up to him and keeping up at his walking pace until it pulled over a bit beside Irvine. He knew that he was caught and came to a stop because of it, turning his head to meet the police cruiser, the officer leaned his head out of the window to speak to him
"What are you doing out here this late kid?
Irvine wasn't sure how to respond but he couldn't just say nothing, and merely spouted off the first thing that came into his head, his cold tone sending mixed feelings to the Officer
"Just walking..."
"Just walking huh? You know there is a curfew here right? Whats your name?"
Irvine looked away from the cop to the sky, knowing he could very well be screwed here, this was the last and only chance he had for if he went with them they would link him to his crimes as a runaway, he would probably be jailed, his "parents" wouldn't want him and if they did, Irvine would only be in an equally horrible situation, if Irvine wanted to be the master of his destiny he would have to allude these police, and that was when something caught his eye, for as he looked over to a building he could see a lone figure standing atop a building, the clouds in the sky parting to reveal the pale moon behind this figure, the moon shone through it which meant it was another of those spirits yet it seemed different then the normal ones he had seen...It stretched its hand out and pointed at Irvine, motioning him to follow, but he couldn't just run because of the cops. The ghost disappered in an instant and then reappeared by Irvine, whose eyes were wide with surprise, it stood next to Irvine and then ran straight forward jumping up higher then any human could and landing on top of a building, it then turned around almost like he was waiting for Irvine. He didn't have much time to think for the cop was looking at him strangely for Irvine's sudden movements, it was obvious he couldn't see the ghost like Irvine could. Perhaps this ghost would help him? Irvine was willing to try anything at this point. Throwing caution to the wind Irvine took off running the cops exclaiming in surprise before climbing out of their car to chase Irvine. The ghost merely stood and watched, while Irvine prayed that this would work as he put all the energy he could into his legs and jumped and to his surprise he jumped higher then he ever had before, making it up to the building with the ghost. Irvine and the cops were amazed though that moment of dumbfoundment wouldn't last long as the officer headed to his car to pursue Irvine. Irvine looked over to the ghost to see that he was already running off and Irvine not sure what else to do took off after him leaping over the buildings that weren't too far apart from one another. How long had Irvine had this power to jump? Was he something more then human? Millions of ideas and possibilities ran through his head but he couldn't build on any of them as he had to make sure not to fall down to the unforgiving street below, the ghost leading him outside of the town to a barren wasteland, in the far horizon a small building seemed to appear.
